If you are planning to visit the San Francisco Bay area, you must go visit Yoshi’s in Oakland. It started out in 1972 as a sushi bar, and over the years it has grown into the premiere venue for jazz music and Japanese cuisine. It is located in the heart of Jack London Square, THE waterfront destination in Oakland.
If you are having dinner at the restaurant, book your reservation two hours before showtime, so you can enjoy the food and the ambience.
Speaking of food, check out some of the appetizers:
- Spicy Shiro Maguro Tartare
- Panko Oysters
- Kobe Beef Skewers
The tempura is also tasty:
- Tiger Shrimp
- Seasonal Vegetable Tempura
- Shrimp & Scallops “Kakiage” Fritter
Some of the delicious entrees include:
- Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon
- Mary’s Farm Organic Chicken
- Certified Angus Beef Ribeye
- Gyoza Lasagna
They also have a selection of sushi that you will absolutely love. I am personally partial to the Spicy Geisha (shrimp tempura/snow crab/maguro/arare) and the Spider (soft shell crab/cucumber/avocado).
I will not even mention the desserts, because that will put you over the top!
Sound good? Well the music lineup is also appetizing. There are some good shows happening in the next few months.
Here are some of the acts that will be appearing:
Feb 7-8 – Branford Marsalis Quartet w/ Kurt Elling
