We first got hip to Konstantin Klashtorni back in 2010 with Kool & Klean - Volume 1. Now THAT was an album of really smooth tracks. I describe the Kool & Clean series as a cross between smooth jazz, chill-out, and electronica. Do yourself a favor and take a listen to any of those albums in the series.
His releases actually go back to 2004, starting with Downturn, but as I always say - better late than never, right?
Konstantin has a new album out for 2020. It is called 7 x 7 and true to form, this effort showcases his smooth sax stylings. His record label describes him as the "master of chill and king of cool," and we would have to totally agree with that assessment.
The title track start out with some whimsical keyboard sounds, then it jumps into a mid-tempo groove that will make you snap those fingers as you keep the beat going. You think I am lying? Check it out below.
If you want a slow groove, then Hypnotize Me should be right up your alley. Everything is on time here, with the guitar and the sax feeding off each other like a married couple that finish each other's sentences. By the way, Konstantin plays all of the instruments, so it is obvious that the talent is there.
There are ten tracks on the album, and just like the above tracks, the whole project is one long smooth groove. I am sure you can find a track or two to add to your "chill" playlist.
