I have to admit I was a little late to the party with Seal. I had always known about him, but it was not until Kiss From A Rose came out, that I started investigating.
Man, was I missing out!
After I heard Crazy, I thought to myself, “Where the hell have I been?!”
The Seal II album sealed it for me, with the first four tracks: Bring It On, Prayer For The Dying, Dreaming In Metaphors, and Don’t Cry. Quite honestly, it is hard for me to name another album with four stronger songs to lead off an album. I mean, we are talking Michael Jackson and Prince territory here.
I have been a fan ever since.
Seal has a new album that is ready to drop. Seal – Standards will release on November 10th, and this will be a slight departure from what people come to expect from this talented artist.
This will be a collection of tracks from the Rat Pack era, with a soul twist.
“This is the album I always wanted to make. I grew up listening to music from the Rat Pack era, so recording these timeless songs was a lifelong dream. It was a true honour to collaborate with the same musicians who performed with Frank Sinatra and so many of my favourite artists, in the very same recording studios where the magic was first made.”
