[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]This will be the third annual Oxnard Jazz Festival 2018, so you know they must be doing something right. Southern California in September will always be an option for those who are not ready to let the summer season end. This year, the concert will take place on September 8th. Oxnard Beach Park is the venue.
Although the term “Jazz” is in the title, you can also expect Soul and R&B. I always believe that the variety is the key. All of the artists from these genres always seem to work well together.
This is a one day event (Saturday) and the gates will open at 10am. Showtime is 11am-7pm.

Being from Oxnard I am so disappointed at how this year’s festival was done. Not a good representation for our city. I thought they would have figured out all the kinks. Half the day the sound crew was wondering how to fix the crackling and static noise. So, half an hour was wasted in between sets trying to fix the sound problem . Long story short the headliners only played two maybe three songs each. We met a couple that drove two hours from Rancho Cucamonga and they were so disappointed that they left before Pete Escovido came on. No water being sold at beer booths was another issue. You want people to stay hydrated while drinking! Also the show is way too long, I mean come on, seven hours of drinking is too much. Maybe a three hour show would be better, with only three headliners and that’s it. We’ll be back, hopefully they will get it right. Just my opinion.
