Man, I remember when my friends and I thought that the world was going to end back in the year 2000. Here we are, 18 years later, and we are still going strong!
Here are some of the popular concerts and shows that will lead you into 2018. This will be a running list, as I will update it periodically.

Kenny G – Honolulu, HI
Perhaps the most well-known jazz artist ever, Kenny G will be in Hawaii to ring in the new year. He will appear at the Blue Note Hawaii in Honolulu.
He will actually be there for a week, and he will have two shows on NYE.

Dee Dee Bridgewater – Washington DC
Dee Dee is a three time Grammy award winning singer/songwriter, and a Tony award winning stage actress. She will be at the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater on December 31st. She will perform two shows, at 7pm and 9pm.

Bruno Mars – Las Vegas, NV
This is the first of three different shows that we have for Las Vegas. Mars will be at the Park Theater at Monte Carlo. Showtime is 9pm, but do not worry, this is Vegas! There will be plenty of party options available after the concert.

Celine Dion – Las Vegas, NV
Celine has been a resident here in Las Vegas at the Colosseum inside Caesar’s Palace for as long as I can remember. Actually she has been here since 2003. The original contract was for 600 shows. She took a little hiatus, but she is still performing for sold out audiences. I saw the show, and I must say that is is one of the best that Las Vegas has to offer. It has all of the classic elements: A great venue, excellent dancers, a top-notch band, and of course, one of the greatest singers out there.

Ja Rule & Ashanti – Las Vegas, NV
Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas is the place to be if you want a little Hip Hop and R&B. Ja Rule and Ashanti will perform all of their hits to ring in 2018.

Daryl Hall & John Oates – Thackerville, OK
For those of you that are in the midwest and are looking to enjoy some soul music, it really does not get any better than Daryl Hall & John Oates. They will be at the Winstar Casino, Thackerville, OK.
They first came out in the mid 1970’s, and in 2017, they still perform to sell-out crowds. The band is tight, and you can get a taste just by watching any episode of Live From Daryl’s House.

K.C. & The Sunshine Band – Rancho Mirage, CA
If you are in Southern California and you want to get your disco on, then maybe catch K.C. & The Sunshine Band. One of the top disco bands in history, they still do it really big. They will perform at the Agua Caliente Casino. Showtime is at 10:30, so the show will most likely take you right up to midnight.

Robin Thicke
Soul singer Robin Thicke will be at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. Everyone knows about Blurred Lines, but there are also some other nice songs that are really underrated. Songs like Got 2 Be Down with Faith Evans, Ask Myself, and Diamonds, featuring The Game.

The Whispers – Oakland, CA
The Paramount Theatre will be the scene for some classic soul and funk as The Whispers will help usher in 2018. This is a theatre that has stood the test of time. It was built in 1931, and I can say from experience, you can definitely feel the history when you are in there.

The Pointer Sisters – Atlantic City, NJ
Get ready to dance right into 2018 as the Pointer Sisters will perform all of their classic hits. I am partial to the Neutron Dance and I Need You. Of course, everyone likes the obvious tracks, such as I’m So Excited and Jump (For My Love) but they have several addition hits that will make you say, “Man, they were the s#*#!”

Kool & The Gang – Glen Allen, VA
One is the most successful bands of the 1980’s will be on stage in Virginia to ring in 2018. I just have one question…..Where is James JT Taylor? Sure he can come and give us a surprise performance, right?

Dave Chappelle & John Mayer – Inglewood, CA
I did not forget about those of you who want some comedy. Dave Chappelle & John Mayer have been performing together on a few dates in 2017. They will take their show to Los Angeles, so this may be a good option if you want to have a double shot of music and comedy. John Mayer is a great guitar player, and they actually perform together. Showtime is 9pm at the legendary Forum in Inglewood.
