New Orleans is the place….What am I talking about? New Orleans is ALWAYS the place, but especially in late spring. The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival will descend on the Big Easy for two weekends of music, food, crafts and culture. This will be happening April 28-30, and May 4-7, at the Fair Grounds Race Course. It is just 10 minutes away from the French Quarter, so you are always within walking distance from a party!
Let’s break some of this down for you:
Food
It goes without saying that the food might be the reason you visit New Orleans. You will be able to experience authentic New Orleans cuisine:
- Muffuletta
- Jambalaya
- Hot Sausage Po-Boy
- Crawfish Sausage Po-Boy
- Crabmeat Stuffed Shrimp
- Boiled Crawfish
- Cajun Crawfish Rice
- Seafood Au Gratin
- Red Beans & Rice w/ Sausage
- Louisiana Crawfish Remoulade
- Crawfish Bisque
- Shrimp Remoulade Po-Boy
Don’t even get me started with the desserts! I think I just gained 10 pounds writing this…..
Crafts
There will be artisans at the festival, and this will include painters, jewelry makers and basket weavers. You will have the opportunity to purchase unique handcrafted clothing, beautiful leather goods and musical instruments. Photographs, paintings, sculptures and jewelry will also be available.
