[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Mindi Abair is back with a new release and an evolution of her sound. The EastWest Sessions will be her first studio album release with The Boneshakers. Their actual first release was in 2015, and it was called Live In Seattle. The album’s success led to the newest project, which is a mixture of jazz, blues, funk, and rock.
This is definitely a departure from her beginnings in the smooth jazz genre.
Her first five albums had a distinctive sound, with hits like Salt and Lime, It Just Happens That Way, Do You Miss Me?, The Joint, and Smile. On In Hi-Fi Stereo, Abair’s sound started to evolve with a bluesy, old school vibe. Be Beautiful is one of the highlights on that release.
Wild Heart was released in 2014, and with tracks like I Can’t Lose and Haute Sauce, Mindi proved that she was not afraid to move away from her comfort zone and give us something completely different.
And with all of the album releases, Mindi lends her vocal prowess on every album.
The Boneshakers band includes Randy Jacobs (Guitar, Vocals), Sweet Pea Atkinson (Vocals), Rodney Lee (Keys), Derek Frank (Bass, Vocals), and Third Richardson (Drums, Vocals). In case you did not know, Randy Jacobs and Sweet Pea Atkinson were with Was (Not Was). Walk the Dinosaur was a big hit for them in the early 1990’s.
Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers have been putting it down since 2015, and it looks like that partnership will give us more great music with The EastWest Sessions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/dCYRspvHp1s” el_width=”70″ align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]You can also catch Abair and The Boneshakers on tour, as they gear up to promote the new album.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]
