Each of the songs on Michael Mayo's debut album represents a learning experience, the building blocks — the titular “bones” that made him the person he is today. Mentored by Herbie Hancock, this 28-year-old New Yorker's multi-textured release was produced by Eli Wolf (Al Green, Norah Jones, The Roots) and features bandmates Michael has played with since high school and college.
An alumnus of both New England Conservatory of Music and the Thelonious Monk Institute, Michael’s music is a seamless blend of alternative and neo-soul elements, a unique combination that defies genre.
