Lionel Richie Las Vegas Residency 2017-2018

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Lionel Richie just renewed his residency in Las Vegas. The legendary hitmaker performed shows in late 2016, and apparently he had a good time performing for the Las Vegas crowds.

“It’s the microcosm of the entire world,” Richie says about the audience in Vegas. “The whole world’s in the audience. What I love is they talk back to you.”

“I remember there was this one lady in the front row. She had to be 80 years old and she’s standing right next to the stage pressed up against the stage and had this glaring, staring look on her face,” recalls Richie about one of his residency shows from 2016. “I gave her the microphone and she said, ‘I just want to tell you how sexy you are.’ Of course the crowd was laughing and I’m blushing!”

There will be two blocks of shows. The first set will take place November 29th-December 16th, while the second block will happen March 7th-20th.

Lionel Richie will be performing at the Axis Theater inside Planet Hollywood. Since 1968, Richie has been performing and writing songs, and there were many hits with the Commodores and the solo compositions are second to none. He has also written songs for other artists, most notably Lady, by Kenny Rogers. Richie also won a Grammy for song of the year in 1985 for We Are The World.
