If you are looking for a new love….or some late 80’s-mid 90’s music, then I believe Jody Watley should be on your list. I mean, she only had some of the tightest dance tracks on the charts.
Did you forget?
Check out the “unofficial” video for the 12″ single for Don’t You Want Me. It was produced by the late Bernard Edwards. You know who he is, the other half of Chic. You know that is why the bass is so funky.
The other one is my favorite, Real Love. Once again, the 12″ version is a must. Watley worked with Andre Cymone on this and many of her other hits.
Watley is having a resurgence of late, as she has been performing on stage and on television. She will perform select dates throughout 2019, so you may need to get out there and see the show!
The show in Lincoln, CA on August 31st is the Rewind/Funk ‘N Soul with Morris Day & The Time, Midnight Star, and the Pointer Sisters.
The show on October 13th in Detroit also features Tony! Toni! Tone!
