Georgia On My Mind: Celebrating The Music Of Ray Charles

Some of music’s biggest stars will hit the road to perform the Ray Charles catalog. Georgia On My Mind: Celebrating The Music Of Ray Charles will kick off in February, 2020 and run through March for 18 shows.

Ray Charles, a Georgia native, is an American icon. He transcended racism, cultural upheavals, and spread his music based on gospel, blues, jazz and country around the world.  Ray won every major award from the Georgia State Hall of Fame to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. From the Kennedy Honors to a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and induction into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame.

The tour will feature

Take 6 — 10 time GRAMMY winning vocal sensation. Their exciting performances defy categorization, and have led to collaborations with Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Queen Latifah, and the Genius, Ray Charles.
Clint Holmes — Las Vegas based vocal star, has been selling out concert halls around the world… his exciting soulful stylings will bring magic to this enchanted evening.
Nnenna Freelon — six time GRAMMY nominee and Downbeat vocalist of the year, will add her soulful vocal style to the Ray mix.
Kirk Whalum — GRAMMY award winner…hails from Memphis, Tennessee…. Kirk’s funky R&B sax sound has been heard hit after hit.

    Ray Charles is not a Georgia native.

      The copy was provided by his old record label. His website also indicates that he was born in Albany, GA.
