‘Kiss You The Same’ Released Today From Dutch Pop Sensation Alain Clark
Soulful singer/songwriter’s international debut album set for release on Concord Records
For Immediate Release, June 2, 2017 –Acclaimed singer/songwriter Alain Clark has announced the release of “Kiss You the Same,” from his highly anticipated forthcoming album and debut recording for Concord Records.
With its urgent rhythms and hypnotic effects, “Kiss You the Same” is a powerfully determined love song. Clark says, “I’m telling the other person, ‘You may think this is just the honeymoon phase, but when the rain starts to fall I’m going to love you the same.’”
A multi-platinum selling artist in the Netherlands, Clark was born in Haarlem (a city outside Amsterdam) and raised on Sam Cooke and other soul legends spun in heavy rotation at home. After spending much of his childhood going to see his dad’s band—an R&B cover outfit called Dane and the Dukes of Soul—he picked up guitar at age nine and began writing songs at 15. With his early work showing an instinctive sense of songcraft, Clark began recording at home and soon took the stage at a major talent show in his home country.
After signing to Concord Records in early 2015, Clark embarked on the two-year-long creative process of writing and recording in Los Angeles. “Kiss You the Same” emerged as a highlight from these sessions.
